In 2018 the European Commission adopted the European Strategy for Plastics in a Circular Economy taking into account that our society, economy and environment are all negatively affected by the way plastics are currently designed, produced, used and discarded. The amount of plastic litter is growing, hurting marine ecosystems, biodiversity and potentially human health. The strategy consists of an ambitious approach to plastic packaging recyclability and contains a strong response to microplastics which are a significant source of marine pollution.

To make this strategy more efficient, the European Commission has been funding several R&D projects dealing with plastics recycling and reuse. All these projects have been invited to make part of the Plastics Circularity Multiplier Initiative (PCMI) launched by the European Commission.

CISUFLO is part of these projects and it will be presented by Centexbel, who will take part in the Innovation Forum 4 Plastics event that will be held on 15th March in Bruxelles.
